Last HBES workshop

We held the final in a series of 3 workshops on the “future of evolutionary psychology”, funded by the Human Behavior & Evolution Society was held last month. This was a postgraduate seminar, where we heard talks from postgrads from across Scotland (and Newcastle 🙂 as well as talks from Dr Amanda Hahn (Glasgow) and the science journalist Dr Mairi McLeod.

Welcome to Jaime and Ethan!

Last month Jaime Benjamin and Ethan Lumb joined the group. Jaime will be working on her PhD in social status and mate choice, and Ethan is starting his MSc dissertation on gender roles during industrialisation in Dundee. Welcome to them both!

Invited talks this summer

This year I gave an invited talk to the UK Semiochemistry Network at Caius College, Cambridge and a plenary talk at the Nordic Evolutionary Psychology Conference at Tartu, Estonia. Both talks were on the roles of stress in sexual signalling.
