In September, Jisc proudly unveiled the latest version of its Online Surveys platform, known as v3. This significant upgrade is designed to allow Jisc to introduce new features more efficiently and respond effectively to the evolving needs of its users and the wider sector.

For Online Surveys users, this blog aims to provide you with all the necessary information for a seamless transition from v2 to v3. Here’s a summary of the key changes and dates you need to be aware of:

Key Dates and Information

  • April 30, 2024: Creating new surveys in v2 will be disabled.
  • July 31, 2024: Online Surveys v2 will be discontinued.
  • Action Required: Download any survey data you wish to retain from v2 to prevent data loss.

What’s Changing?

Currently, there are two versions of Online Surveys in use—v2 and v3. All users have immediate access to v3, and Jisc highly encourages you to start using it as soon as possible. It’s important to note that survey response data will not automatically transfer from v2 to v3. To ensure you don’t lose any valuable data, please follow Jisc’s instructions on how to export survey data.

Upcoming Changes to Online Surveys v2

Previously, Jisc communicated that Online Surveys v2 would be discontinued in February 2024. However, based on valuable customer feedback and discussions, Jisc has decided to extend this deadline to July 31, 2024. This extension not only accommodates user needs but also gives the development team additional time to introduce more features in v3.

Steps to Take

  1. Switch to v3: Start familiarising yourself with the new platform.
  2. Export Your Data: Make sure to download any survey data from v2 that you wish to keep.
  3. Stay Updated: Keep an eye on Jisc’s FAQ page for more information and visit the online surveys news section for regular updates from the development team.

This blog aims to outline the transition process to Jisc’s new platform. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out at help@jisc.ac.uk.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
