An email cannot corrupt your device on its own, you have to interact with it. Think:
- When you receive an email to your University account, consider if you were expecting correspondence on that topic, from that recipient. If you weren’t, and the message is calling for you to act either by sending information, clicking on an active link, or downloading an attachment, first ask the IT Service Desk to confirm its legitimacy.
- Never tick/check enable macros on attachments, unless you explicitly need to and trust the sender.
- Don’t run a program if you don’t know where it has come from and haven’t chosen to install it yourself.

Turnitin have reported that the issues that occurred yesterday have been resolved:
Turnitin Service Alert
|Turnitin UK experienced a service degradation between 10:00am and 04:00pm BST on the 8th of May.
During the degradation users may have been unable to load submissions in the Document Viewer and mark them.
The issue is now resolved.

Today we’ve launched a new site that will provide information and resources in support of digital learning across the University of Dundee. We’re starting small but please check back regularly to see how we grow this into valuable resource in support of digital learning at the University of Dundee.
To start us of off we’re introducing a new series called Learning X, which will look at challenging topics in digital learning and provide helpful information and activities to support learning & teaching at the University of Dundee.

The Turnitin service experienced some disruption today between 12pm and 1pm. This has now been resolved.
Turnitin and TurnitinUK service has now been restored. Service was disrupted from 4.15am PST/12.15pm BST/9.15pm AEDT to 4.39am PST/12.39 BST/9.39pm AEDT.

Some users have reported that they are unable to see their modules/organisations in My Dundee. UoDIT have identified a problem with the user enrolments and are working to fix this as a matter of urgency.
If you are affected, we are not currently anticipating that this will take long to fix and will update this post at 13:30.
Maintenance is scheduled to take place on My Dundee on Tue 25 Apr from 08:30-09:00 to resolve an urgent issue.
