In December last year, 43 students from across the University said ‘yes!’ to the opportunity of a lifetime and flew all expenses paid to Dubai to participate in the Common Purpose Global Leadership Experience.

During the four day programme, students visited the offices of a diverse range of organisations from the public, private and third sector, and worked in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams to tackle a global challenge. They also made good use of their free time to explore the sights, sounds and smells of dazzling Dubai.

See for yourself what they got up to…

Prior to this trip, my views on the UAE were wrong,

It turns out my mindset had been in the wrong place all along.

My judgement was corrupted, my thoughts and opinions too!

For those who haven’t been abroad… oh if only you knew.

This was a once in a lifetime trip to a city I never thought I’d see. I have come away with amazing memories and new friends as well as a higher level of cultural intelligence, much better leadership skills and a boatload of newfound confidence in myself and my abilities. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
