The Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) Executive are your elected representatives for academic year 2022/23. They work together to ensure students have the best experience possible.
Obiozor Okoro is the Vice-President (VP) of Representation. She is responsible for facilitating student representation throughout the University, coordinating all student elections, training for representatives and is the first point of contact for any related matters.
The OneDundee bloggers had a chat with Obiozor to help you get to know her better:
Q: Obiozor, why did you decide to run for this role?
A: I wanted to be a voice for some of the challenges faced by students and becoming the Vice President of Representation felt like the right channel through which I could help improve students’ experience on campus.
Q: What are your aims for the year?
A: To improve student engagement on campus by encouraging students to be part of DUSA, get involved in elections and the Student Representative Council.
Q: What can you help students with?
A: I can help students choose the right channels to express their views on campus and aim to make students feel part of the university community.
Q: What made you choose to study at Dundee?
A: The University of Dundee came highly recommended to me.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you can offer a new student?
A: Be involved, this is a great experience that stays with you for life.
Q: What’s your favourite memory during your time at Dundee?
A: My favourite memory now is Fresher’s Week, talking with a lot of students and seeing a lively campus!
