Hello everyone!

As you might already know my name is Ivana, I’m from Croatia and I’m about to start LLB Law degree. What you probably don’t know is that I’m 27 years old. I’m only mentioning my age because it is connected to one of my concerns which I will discuss later on, but let me first introduce myself, or at least try to!

First, I must warn you I can be a bit nerdy, I’m a big sci-fi and fantasy fan. I am also an avid reader, so I hope you won’t mind if occasionally I mention a book or two. However, I assure you I’m very friendly and chatty, so if you see me around feel free to say hi! Of course I will write about other things too and I promise I will try not to ramble too much!

I will do my best to write about all aspects of student life in Dundee, but I will also try to focus on student life from the perspective of a mature student. As I mentioned before, my age was one of my main concerns, especially since I decided to stay in student halls. I was really worried that everyone else would be a lot younger than me and that they would exclude me. Residences Office was amazing though! My future flatmates are all aged between 22 and 34 (I think) which makes me feel much more comfortable and I can’t wait to meet them all!

My decision to apply to Dundee was mostly based on the course they offered. I really liked the idea of dual qualifying law degree. I feel that it’s leaving more options open for me. I don’t have to plan my entire career straight away. In my opinion that is a very big plus for Dundee! My only worry was the size of the city itself. I was afraid that I would feel secluded. However, after doing my research on the matter what I discovered was quite the opposite. Hopefully I will get a chance to write about what Dundee has to offer very soon! Until then I will focus on more boring aspects of student life, making all preparations and packing!

That’s all for now, I promise I will post my packing guide soon!
