2017 Reflection

2017 has been an incredible year, and one that I’m sure I’ll remember for a long time to come. From exam stress during Sixth Form, to getting into uni and having the time of my life here, it’s been quite a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Jan-Mar

At the start of the year, I had my mock A Level exams to be revising for, as well as being constantly reminded of the real exams in June. This was quite a stressful time as I was receiving offers from universities and my entire mind set was revise, get good grades, get into uni – all I could think about was schoolwork. It wasn’t all dull though: I made sure to have loads of fun with my friend group from sixth form as we knew this year would be our last chance to all be together for a long time!

Apr-Jun

Leaving Sixth Form was really sad because I was leaving the school I’d been at for the past 7 years for good. Let’s just say there was a lot of celebrating done before exams! During study leave, I remember relaxing as much as possible at home and spending far too much time watching Little Britain. Yes, I’m surprised I made it here too. I did, though, spend a lot of time revising, which I’m reminded of every time I go into my bedroom at home like war flashbacks.

Jul-Sep

After my exams, I had loads of spare time that I filled with binging everything I’d wanted to watch for the past two years on Netflix. I had a lot on my mind, waiting to see if how I’d done in my exams was good enough to get to Dundee. Finally results day came and I got the grades I needed to go to my dream uni! After that, I had two weeks to get everything sorted for moving to Dundee. It was worth all the stress, as, after I’d moved in, I got settled really quickly and now Dundee is one of my favourite places to be!

Oct-Dec

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been really settling into uni and living in Dundee, and getting my deadlines for first semester done and out of the way! I’m almost done for Christmas now and will be going home this week to finish the year with my family. I’m excited for 2018!

I encourage you all to take a moment to reflect on your experiences this year and take as much as you can from them!
