I’ve come to the end of my first year of university and I’d love to share some of my experiences in a review of the year.
Settling into living in Dundee was so easy for me. It seems like it only took me a few days to really get into it and feel like it was a new home. Finding my way around the city took a lot longer than this but that’s what google maps is for! Becoming a student was quite an easy transition for me overall, probably because I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do and where I wanted to be.
Dundee has become my second home and I’m sure I’ll always have a special place for it in my heart after I’ve finished my degree. I’ve come to love the city and I’m sure as I go through uni I’ll experience more and more of the city and only learn to love it more. As you’ll have read in one of my previous posts, I think Dundee is an amazing city to live in as a student, especially because of how safe it is and all the resources available to us within the city centre.
My modules for both semesters have been really interesting and allowed me to experience some new things, offering up completely new opportunities I wouldn’t have got elsewhere. I’m really excited for the modules I’ve chosen to study next year!
The History Society has been a big part of my first year experience and it has given me so many opportunities and experiences that I’ve absolutely loved. All the events and trips and even the meetings have been some of the highlights of my year and I’m so thankful that the society were so welcoming to me as a first year from day one.
I’ve played football all year for DUWFC which I’m so glad I got involved in so soon! We had a really good season and I’m excited to hopefully take part in the next football season with them too.
I’m really looking forward to my second year! I recently picked my modules which got me super excited for the new academic year. I’ll be moving into a new flat which is a big step that I can’t wait to take, and I’ll become President of the History Society which will be a new and exciting experience that I’m glad I get to share with my friends on the amazing committee we have.
