You can’t buy happiness, but you can get a pizza.

If you’ve read any of this blog my main motivations are pretty clear. If you haven’t already grasped this forgive me for being too subtle. Food.

Food makes me so happy.

As far as food goes there isn’t much else better than pizza so you can imagine how excited I was to try yet another student pizza place in Dundee.

Padrino Pizza

The new pizza place has opened up along Perth Road (closer to the likes of Dr. Noodles and Wee Mexico) and has a nice cosy interior for a quick meal between lectures for those of you based on campus or a late meal with/before drinks. The menu was a limited but had some pretty great combinations if you’re looking to try something apart from your usual Hawaiian/ Pepperoni combo.  Think fluffy sourdough crusts and fresh toppings. Now I enjoy a greasy slice just as much as the next cheap student, but this is definitely a classic elevated to somewhat loftier standards. After all, I had artichokes on mine.

Here are some artfully taken shots to make you hungry at your desk. You’re welcome.

I would also highly recommend the mozzarella sticks because cheese.

As far as pricing goes, the restaurant is pretty much as affordable as you could expect. It’s about £6 – £8 for your standard pizza. The next time you’d like to forgo the easy dominos (absolutely nothing wrong with it) consider giving it a shot.

Note to inclusivity:

Other favourite pizza places around town include Mozza, Project Pie and your local Pizza Hut.

Until next time x

Hello everyone! I'm an international medical student, currently in my 4th year. I'm setting out to experience as much of Dundee student life as possible as I finish with my last years of undergraduate studies. I'm a closet bookworm and a foodie with an obsession of baking all things sweet. I also drink copious amounts of tea.
