Books have always kept me company being an introvert, so here are a few books that I came across and enjoyed thoroughly.
Circe by Madeline Miller. If you are someone who enjoys Greek mythology, you should indulge in this book. It is a retelling of the Odyssey through the point of view of Circe- who rules over the island of Aiaia. She is the daughter of the Titan Helios and is known for her infamous role in the Odyssey. The book attempts to explain the reason behind her actions and depicts her as one of the most significant characters in the events that occur.
Where rainbows end by Cecelia Ahern. It is also recognized by its cinematic adaptation – Love, Rosie; it is a slow burner romance that ultimately leaves a smile on your face. Although everyone might not have faith in the concept of soulmates, this book manages to keep the reader on his/her toes with its hits and misses while charming the reader with its delivery in the form of letters back and forth between the characters.
The silent patient by Alex Michaelides. This book is based on the events that occur in the life of Alicia Berenson- a famous painter who is found guilty of the murder of her husband. Allured by her silence on her husband’s murder, even after being present at the crime scene, she is admitted to a secure facility called Grove due to a plea of diminished responsibility. Even after attending the therapy sessions, she refused to speak. Eventually, she gives a diary to Theo (a psychotherapist), which unveils a shocking secret.
If tomorrow comes by Sidney Sheldon. A captivating crime thriller with the underlying theme of ‘hell hath no fury as a woman scorned.’ It is a story of a young woman encased by the Mafia and all the hardships she faces as she overcomes to seek vengeance, only to find love in the most unexpected manner.
I enjoyed reading these books, and hopefully you will enjoy them too!
