A new semester has begun, and with it, the campus is again busy with students. Seeing this bustle on campus after a slow winter hibernation is nice. And with this new semester, I am sure you must be enjoying some of the new modules and their lectures.
Of course, some of us are certain about our choices, and some are not, but nevertheless, the search for what we like has begun yet again. One change for me during this search was falling in love with plant science. From the beginning of my journey with science and then, more specifically, biology, I have always been fascinated by the wonder of the animal kingdom. Still, only after doing my genetics module last year did I realise that I also enjoy studying the plant kingdom. And so, this year, along with my animal biology-related modules, I have started a new journey with plant sciences. So, to you all, my readers who are worried about this fresh start filled with unknowns and uncertainties, I recommend you have faith in your choices and believe in the modules you have chosen, even if you are unsure of them.
Although last semester during the start of Genetics and its exploration into plant science, I was unsure if I would have liked it, I took up an entire module dedicated to plant science this year. So let your journey unfold, and only then look back, not to regret but to join the dots and see for yourself. Don’t stress about the choices that might seem uncertain initially; wait for them to settle in, and only then may you have a new interest to add to your “What I like” list!
Best of luck with this new start!
